New
Delhi, Nov 3: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea challenging the
Inquiry Commission constituted to investigate the death of late Chief Minister
of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa.
The plea was filed by one PA Joseph, who had sought a fresh inquiry to be constituted.
He had alleged that the current Inquiry commission was illegal and unconstitutional. He also asserted that the Commission was set up without a proper resolution from the state Assembly.
Joseph had demanded that an inquiry be set up after the passage of a resolution by the lawmakers of the state.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, dismissed the plea as devoid of merit.
