New Delhi, Nov24: The Standing Committee of Inter-State Council (ISC) is to discuss the
recommendations of the Punchhi Commission, constituted to review center-state
relation, here on Saturday.
This is going to be the 12th meeting of the Standing
Committee of ISC and will be chaired by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Mr
Singh would be discussing the reports of the commission with his cabinet
colleagues Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Thaawar Chand Gehlot and
Chief Ministers of States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Punjab,
Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh who are members of this committee. In April 2007, a three member commission headed by the former
chief justice of India MM Punchhi was set up by the UPA Government to take a
fresh look at relative roles and responsibilities of various levels of
government and their inter-relations. This commission had submitted its report
in 2010 to the then Home Minister P Chidambaram. UNI
