Samba (Tarore) , Nov 22:  Every child has the right to a full and productive life. It is up to all of us to ensure that our children grow up in the environment that builds confidence, friendship, security and happiness, irrespective of their family status or background. In order to Keep our children safe from any harm or abuse Mount Litera Zee School, Tarore Bridge, Samba today organized a special seminar on “Child Abuse” in the school premises today. The event was orchestrated towards cognizing the students about the ramifications of “Child Abuse”.

The event was graced by the valued presence of our school Chairman Dr. A.K Kapoor along with the Director Mr. Rahul Kapoor. The dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by the Co-ordinator of the school, Mrs. Gayika Kapoor which was followed by the inauguration of an incredibly thought-provoking seminar.
The seminar was convened by the resource person Mrs. Neha Gupta (Psychologist) IE-SSA, JAMMU in the presence of the Principal, MLZS, Mr. Sundeep Arora.

She started with sharing the main four primary forms of abuse that can be reported. They include: Physical abuse, Child neglect, Emotional abuse, and Sexual abuse. She also focused on lessons on basic rights that children which are granted under the constitution of India, the difference between good touch-bad touch and the need to understand the principles of ‘No Touch’ as something to protect themselves and other children from potentialabuse.
Speaking on the occasion, she added that Child abuse is a difficult subject that can be hard to accept and even harder to talk about. Taking proper steps can help in making a tremendous difference in the life of an abused child to stop the abuse early. When talking with the students, especially when with an abused child, the best thing you can provide is calm reassurance and unconditional support. Let your actions speak for you if you’re having trouble finding words. Remember that talking about abuse may be very difficult for the child. However, empathetic and comfortable approach of non-judgement and no criticism can be very helpful.

In her concluding words: She mentioned that it is important to train general public, teachers and educators the ways to deal with children and start communication as not everyone should be allowed to discuss concerns with students as these being very sensitive issues which may hurt the child’s self respect and esteem.

The School’s Chairman Dr. A.K.Kapoor along with the Director Mr. Rahul Kapoor appreciated the efforts made by the resource person in conveying a very important message to the students in the above subject.
The event drew to a close by the Principal with a word of thanks and a memento was handed over to Mrs.Neha Gupta on behalf of the school by the Chairman himself as to mark an honour. Also he added with the powerful words awakening amongst students to raise awareness about the facer and tackle the same by resolving to take multitudes of collaborative steps in this direction till the problem of child abuse is finally put right.
