Siliguri,
Nov 2: The North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) will soon
launch
a mobile app through which people across the state will be able to book bus tickets for
long-distance buses to go anywhere in north Bengal.
More than 500 buses are operational under NBSTC. Cooch Behar-Kolkata and
Siliguri-Kolkata are some of the popular routes for which demand is high most of the year, a
NBSTC official today said.
"Webel, a private company, is working towards developing this app," said the NBSTC
official.
He said the app would be specially useful for students, who want to travel to and from
north Bengal on weekends and avoid harassment of ticket booking.
NBSTC is also working on updating its website. The updated website will now include
details of the popular tourist destinations across north Bengal and their route of travel, the
official added. UNI
