Delhi, Nov 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday told the Indian team
that participated in the recently concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup that competing with enthusiasm and
spirit 'is the first step to success'.
Hosts India exited U-17 World Cup after three straight defeats with their spirits uncrushed happy at their achievement despite their defeat as this was the first time that that India played in this World Cup. During an interaction with the players, the Prime Minister encouraged the players to not feel disappointed with the outcome of the tournament, but to treat it as a learning opportunity. He said India could achieve a lot in football and mentioned that sports helped in developing personality, building confidence, and in overall development.
