New
Delhi, Nov 16: Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA
government over the deal for Rafale fighter aircrafts, Congress vice-president
Rahul Gandhi on Thursday asked for explanation from its "Reliance"
over an industrial group with no experience in aerospace technology. Apparently referring to the deal between Reliance Defence and Dassault
Aviation, Rahul, in a series of tweets, said, 'can you explain
"Reliance" on someone with nil experience in aerospace for Rafale
deal?' 'Self "Reliance" is obviously a critical aspect of "Make in
India,'he said in another tweet. Later, in another tweet, Rahul said, 'Modi ji - nice touch removing the suit.
What about the loot?' The Congress had on Tuesday charged the NDA government of having compromised
national interest and security in the Rafale aircraft deal. The Congress alleged that the aircraft was being purchased at much higher rates
than what was decided under the previous UPA government. It alleged that interests of public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
were neglected as Dassault Aviation, the French manufacturer of Rafale
aircraft, refused to transfer technology to it and instead entered into an
agreement with Reliance Defence. Reliance Defence Limited, in a statement released on Tuesday, termed the
Congress allegations as "baseless and unfounded". France too on Wednesday said the Rafale fighter aircraft deal was in India's
interest. UNI
