Kolkata, Nov 16: Light drizzle forced the CAB authorities to keep cover on the outfield
and pitch at Eden Gardens resulting in the delay of the start of the first Test match between
India and Sri Lanka today.
The 5-day Test was scheduled to start at 0930 hours and toss around 0900 hours. The officials and the umpires would first inspect the ground and if the playing situation was conducive, then the captains would be called for toss on the ground. All out efforts are on to dry the ground through super sopper. Persistent rain since Tuesday night following deep depression in the Bay of Bengal also affected life in West Bengal. UNI
