18 ATBs distributed among meritorious students
Baramulla, December 02: In its efforts to incentivize the
students studying in various governmental institutions, a Book mela was today
organized at Government Girls Higher Secondary School with District Development
Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash as the chief guest.
The function was organized by Chief Education Officer which
witnessed the overwhelming participation of a large number of students of the
district.
ADC Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Chief Education Officer Abdul
Ahad Insha, Principal GHSS and other functionaries of education Department were
present on the occasion.
On the occasion, textbooks were distributed among various
students and shall be subsequently given to the 80325 students enrolled in
various primary and middle schools of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC hailed the concerned for
organizing the function and said that such events will help in strengthening
the education sector. He said that government is committed to ensuring the
necessary facilities for academic excellence and assured of developing basic
infrastructure in government schools.
He urged the students to avail benefits from these textbooks and
suggested them to concentrate on studies for achieving success. He also urged
them to participate in extra co-curricular activities and termed physical
strength as a precondition for attaining mental strength.
Later,
18 mountain bikes were also distributed among the meritorious students as part
of All Terrain Mountain Bikes (ATB) scheme launched by Chief Minister Mehbooba
Mufti.
