SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 22: Controller Legal Metrology Department, R.
K. Katoch, reviewed the working of Legal Metrology Department Kashmir here
today.
Among others Joint Controller Amar Singh, Deputy Controllers of
Kashmir, Assistant Controllers and other officers were present in the meeting.
Joint Controller apprised the meeting about various measures
being taken up by the department towards ensuring adequate services to the
consumers besides protecting their rights. He informed that Rs. 37,43,391 have
been realized on account of stamping/ verification fee while as Rs. 28,49,700
have been realized as compounding fee in 2639 cases across the Province during
the current financial year, so far, thus registering an increase to the amounts
realized last year.
Controller asked the officers to gear up their men and
machinery to ensure adequate supply of essentials and related services to the
people of the Valley in view of severe winters. He asked them to make sure that
regular market checking is conducted to ensure quality edibles to the consumers
besides saving them from the menace of black marketing, profiteering and
hoarding at the hands of unscrupulous elements.
Reviewing the working of various administrative units of the
department, Controller complimented the Officers for their performance in
achieving the assigned targets. He directed the officers to conduct regular
consumer awareness camps which are vital for ensuring effective services to the
people.
Meanwhile, the Officers raised various issues with the
Controller regarding the working of their respecting wings seeking an early
redressal to the same.
Controller
assured the all their issues would be looked into for redressal.
