New Delhi, Dec 19: The Congress on Tuesday staged a walk-out from the Lok Sabha 
in support of its demand for an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over charges made by him during an election rally in Gujarat against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. 
As the main opposition party members continued to stay put in the Well and raised demand for an apology from the Prime Minister, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan proceeded ahead with the Zero Hour. 
Amid noisy scenes, the proceedings continued but were drowned in the din. 
The Congress members began making speeches while being in the Well. All this while, newly-elected party President Rahul Gandhi, his mother and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi were present in the House. 
Later, an anguished Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar described the behaviour of Congress MPs as 'shameful and condemnable.' 
He said the 'mock proceedings held by the Opposition members, including their leader Mallikarjun Kharge, was an insult to the Chair.
He hoped good sense would prevail and the Opposition members would avoid such action in future.
Earlier, during the continuing din, Mr Kharge started making a speech from his seat. As the Speaker continued with the Zero Hour issues, Mr Kharge led a walk-out from the House. The Congress members were heard raising demand directed at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who was present in the House, for a thorough investigation into the charges of conspiracy against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. 
On the Treasury benches, BJP patriarch L K Advani was present. 
Earlier, the House was adjourned till noon as the Congress members stormed the Well and made vociferous demand for an apology by Prime Minister Modi. Amid the ruckus, the Question Hour proceeded but was drowned in the din. UNI
