Constitution under threat, it is duty of Cong to defend it: Rahul

New Delhi, Dec 28: Expressing concern over the statements being made by senior members of BJP to change the Constitution, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said it was the duty of his party to defend the Constitution and fight for the truth. 

'The Constitution, which lay down the foundation of our country , is under threat. It is under attack directly. Statements are being made by senior members of the BJP in this regard.
It is under attack surreptitiously from the back. It is the duty of the Congress party and every single Indian to defend it,' Mr Gandhi said while addressing party workers on occasion of the 133rd foundation day of the Congress. 
Charging the BJP of resorting to lies in order to win elections, he said the Congress party has always followed the path of truth.
'The BJP resorts to lies in order to win election. However, the Congress has always stood for truth .
We work for the truth and fight for the truth,' he said.
Earlier, Mr Gandhi hoisted the party flag at the AICC headquarters in presence of senior leaders Motilal Vora, Janardhan Dwivedi and others. 
On this occasion, Mr Gandhi distributed sweets among children at AICC headquarters. UNI
