KUPWARA DECEMBER 11: The
District Commissioner Development Kupwara today conducted a visit of Joint
Control Room here at District Information Centre Kupwara, Mechanical
Engineering Division and Sub District Hospital Kupwara to take stock of snow
clearness preparedness and availability of manpower and machinery in the
district.
The DC expressed satisfaction over the
arrangements and preparedness to meet out any exigency. Assistant Commissioner
Revenue, CMO Kupwara, BMO Kupwara, AEE MED, AEE R & B Kupwara, District
Information officer Kupwara accompanied the DDC during visit to different
establishments associated with the snow clearance and winter preparedness.
While inspecting the Joint Control
Room, the DDC enquired about the facilities there and called upon the ACR to
further strengthen and gear it up to make it more vibrant and effective. He
also checked the attendance of deployed employees in the control room and asked
in charge to publish the contact numbers of different departmental control
rooms established for the purpose.
The District Development Commissioner
also visited MED head quarter Bomhama were he took stock of preparedness for
snow clearance, availability of men and machinery to meet any eventuality in
case of snowfall. AEE MED informed that 11 snow clearance machines with
necessary manpower have been kept ready to clear 631 kms of road length in the
district. The control room (24X7) has been established at MED head quarter with
cell number 9858442045, while the district development Commissioner directed
the authority to install landline with other facilities of communication within
the control room so that functioning of the MED be visible for the general
public as well as district administration.
The District development commissioner
also visited Sub-district hospital Kupwara to review the overall functioning of
the health institute, availability of men, Machinery, availability of medicines
in the SDH Kupwara and other health institution functioning in the district.
The Chief Medical officer briefed the DDC about the overall functioning of
health institutions. The DDC also went around different blocks of hospital
enquired about the facilities available for patients, attendants and hospital
functionaries. It was given out that all men and machinery besides availability
of medicines transportation have been kept ready to face any eventuality during
the winter months.
However, the DDC impressed upon the
health officers to remain present at their place of postings, bedsides
maintaining heating, power, and sanitation measures in and around the SDH
Kupwara.
