SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 21: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz
Asad today convened a meeting here to review the progress of various
developmental projects in the district under R&B, Health and Education
sectors.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Assistant
Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineer R&B, Chief Education Officer and
other concerned engineers and officers.
The
DDC also assessed the progress under various centrally-sponsored schemes, State
sector, district sector CAPEX budget and PMDP in the district.
During the meeting, the progress achieved under decisions taken in the previous
District Development Board meetings was also reviewed. Issues like shifting of
utilities for construction and upgradation of Bijbehara-Shopian Road,
Reshnagri, Zainapora, Batapora, Wachi, Kachdoora, Vishru, Amshipora bridges,
drainage and sanitation and other ongoing projects in Health, and Education
sectors were also deliberated upon.
The
DDC asked the officers to put up the list of the works held up at various
stages so as to take up them at appropriate levels.
He
also took a serious note of low expenditure in respect of Health and Education
sectors. He emphasized the need to book expenditure up to 70% of the approved
allocation by ending December 2017.
During the meeting, the DDC stressed on inter-departmental coordination in the
implementation of schemes and achieving the set targets efficiently.
On
the occasion, the DDC directed the executing agencies including R&B, to
accelerate the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the projects. The
issues pertaining to the construction of Bridges and roads under PMGSY were
also discussed thoroughly.
