New Delhi, Dec 21: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday questioned the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the 2G verdict, in which all the accused were acquitted by the court.
He said that 2G being one of the biggest scams in the country, was the one of the reasons behind downfall of the UPA Government.
'2G scam is one of the biggest scams. It rocked the country n was one of the reasons for UPA’s downfall. Today everyone goes scot-free. Did CBI mess up the case? Intentionally? People need answers,' Delhi CM said in a tweet.
A special CBI court on Thursday acquitted former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK chief M Karunanidhi's daughter M Kanimozhi and other accused in 2G spectrum allocation scam cases.
Announcing the order, Special CBI judge OP Saini said the prosecution had failed to prove any of its charges.
According to Comptroller and Auditor General or CAG report, the state exchequer suffered a loss of Rs 1,76,379-crore by allocating 2G spectrum licences at throwaway prices, but the CBI in its chargesheet put the losses at Rs 31,000-crore. UNI
