New Delhi, Dec 20: Congress party on Wednesday staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha after they were denied to raise the issue of insult to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election campaign. 
Congress members were demanding an apology from Mr Modi for allegations against Dr Singh.
During the debate in the Lower House on The Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property Amendment Bill, 2017, Congress members shouted slogans and demanded an apology from the Prime Minister for allegations against Dr Singh.
Question Hour and Zero Hour were disrupted in the morning as Congress MPs continued to press their demand for an apology from the Prime Minister-which has been rejected by the ruling side.
In the post-lunch session, also, agitated Congress members rushed to the well, raising slogans for the premier's apology.
Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai, told Congress members that Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has rejected their notice of adjournment motion and the decision was final.
He called Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramesh Bidhuri to continue with the debate on The Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property Amendment Bill, 2017.
Even as Congress floor leader Mallikarjun Kharge wanted to say something, a number of Congress MPs rushed to the well of the House raising anti-government slogans and demanded apology from Mr Modi.
Among those who rushed to the well were Gaurav Gogoi, Sushmita Dev, Rajeev Satav and K C Venugopal.
The House, however, continued with the debate on the Bill. After repeated demands by the Congress members, when speaker disallowed Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge to speak on the issue, Congress walked out from the House. UNI
