Gandhinagar,
Dec 26: Vijay Rupani on Tuesday took oath as the Gujarat Chief Minister
for the second time in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several
senior leaders.
Mr Rupani on Friday was elected as the leader of BJP
legislature party which scored victory in this month's Assembly elections. Along with him, Nitin Patel also swore in as the deputy Chief Minister of the state.
This is BJP's sixth consecutive term in the state since 1995.
Besides, 18 others also took oath as the cabinet and ministers of state.
Governor Om Prakash Kohli administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to all the ministers, including Mr Rupani and his deputy Mr Patel.
The Prime Minister, BJP president Amit Shah, chief ministers of various BJP-ruled and partner states, and other senior party leaders attended the function, which was held at the new Secretariat complex.
Ministers who were included in Cabinet are Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, R C Faldu, Kaushik Patel, Saurabh Patel, Ganpat Vasava, Jayesh Radadiya and Ishwarbhai Parmar.
Vibhavari Dave is the lone woman minister who took oath as the minister of state in today's ceremony.
Two ministers from previous dispensation who were dropped this time include Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Babu Bokhiria and Transport Minister Vallabh Kakadia.
The BJP won 99 seats in the just-concluded elections. One independent lawmaker has also extended support to the Rupani government. UNI
