Lucknow, Dec 25: Teachers should be aware of the mental health of the students and any aberration in behaviour or conduct, if noticed, should be reported to the parents, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma said here.
“As the digital explosion is shrinking the world, children are now exposed to internet games. The biggest example is Blue Whale game where the child gets so involved in the game that ultimately he ends up committing suicide,” Dr Sharma pointed out.
He said that children have an impressionable mind and they get swayed by the guile of the administrator and, inadvertently, share their personal information, which is misused. “Here comes the role of the teacher. If the teachers notice any peculiar change in the conduct of children, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the parents,” Dr Sharma advised.
He suggested that parents should also keep an eye on the activities of their children. “They should know what game their child is playing on the computer and what adverse impact that game could have on the psyche of the child. From time to time, parents should also try to check whether there are any injury marks on their child’s body. If case there are injury marks, it is a worrying sign,” he pointed out.
“The parents should check the call details and child’s involvement in different WhatsApp groups. They should also look into the search history. A regular check would also keep the children alert and chances of children going astray would be lesser,” the deputy chief minister added.
Sharma advised students to be attentive in class. “You should have an aim in your life. Focus on the road map that takes you to that target. Be focused and work hard. If you do that, success will be yours,” he added. UNI
