Kalaburagi, Dec 3: Senior BJP leader and Karnataka unit President B S Yeddyurappa on Monday denied that the violence in Bilikere near Hunsur in Mysore district on Sunday when BJP workers tried to take out Hanuman Jayanti procession was because of 'drill' by BJP National President Amit Shah asking partymen to create trouble.
'A claim to this effect by Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy is nothing but 'nonsense',' he said.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Yeddyurappa said that Siddaramaiah government was resorting to politics of vengeance and demanded that all Hunuman devotees who was arrested ben released immediately.
He said that Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha MP Pratap Simha has not violated the law and  he had not taken the law in his hand. 'Why they put barricades on the way to the regular route and it is to create confusion thereby resulting in trouble,', he said.
Replying to a question, he said that bringing in Party President Amit Shah name was not correct in this incident and what they said was out of truth. The whole thought was nothing but foolishness and the Congress leader was deliberately dragging Mr Shah's name to create 'disrepute' to him, he added. UNI
