JAMMU, JANUARY 18:– Minister for Revenue Abdul Rehman
Veeri, on behalf of Minister for Power, today informed the House that the
government has engaged a consultant for updating the Detailed Project Report
(DPR) for the revival and maintenance of Mohara Power House in Uri.
Replying to a question of legislator Ghulam Nabi Monga, the Minister
informed that 9 MW hydropower would be generated after the revival of Mohra
power project. The consultant would submit its report within six
months and the work for revival of the power project would be started as soon
as the report is received, he added.
He further informed that NHPC has assured the release of 11.33 cusecs of
discharge from its Uri first barrage that is vital for revival of the project.
