New Delhi, Jan 15: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Monday sought clarification from the
Union Home Minister on the reported presence of National Security Adviser Ajit
Doval at a meeting to discuss the ruling BJP's poll strategy in coming state
assembly elections.
Terming news reports of Mr Doval's presence at the meeting as
a 'serious violation of norms', the party Polit Bureau asked in a statement asked 'how can a senior
government functionary like the NSA be present in a meeting to discuss the Bharatiya Janata Party's election
campaign? The Union Home Minister must immediately clarify.'
It was referring to news reports that a meeting was held at the residence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh attended by BJP and RSS leaders to discuss the coming elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
'If correct, this is a shocking violation of norms and serious misconduct,' the Polit Bureau said. UNI
