SHOPIAN, JANUARY 15: -
State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) today conducted awareness cum mock drill
exercise at Arhama Shopian.
Officers of Civil Defence, District
administration, experts, Red-Cross volunteers were present on the occasion.
It was impressed upon the SDRF and
concerned rescue operational authorities to impart necessary training to the
youth of the district regarding first aid rescue relief and other skills
required during floods, fire, earthquake, avalanche, forest fire, road
accidents.
The need for providing immediate help
to the victims during
manmade and natural disasters and initiation of the mock drill at all public
places was also emphasized upon.
The gathering was informed that 300
volunteers have been engaged in the rescue operations in the district and
imparted basic traning of
the disaster management precautions.
