Hassan, Jan 13: Eight persons were killed and more than 10 others injured when a Karnataka
State Road Transport Corporation bus overturned and fell into the road side
ditch near Shantigrama on the outskirts of the city on Saturday .
Police said that the incident took place when the bus was
proceeding to Dharmasthala from Bengaluru.
Four of the victimswere identified as Lakshman (38 driver), Dayana (20), Gangadhar (20) and Shivappa Chalavadi (36). Other victims were yet to be identified. There were 25 persons in the bus when the incident took place.
Seven of them were killed on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries at hospital. The injured were admitted to different hospitals in Hassan.
