FCSCA Deptt issues order, authorizes
DCs to submit lists
JAMMU, JANUARY 15:
Government has started process of identification of nomadic population for
issuance of fresh ration card.
Following direction from Chowdhary
Zulfkar Ali, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Tribal
Affairs, the Department has issued Govt Order No 10 – FCSCA of 2018 dated 15-01-2018 authorizing Deputy
Commissioners to identify nomadic population in their respective districts.
As per the order, DC will identify
nomadic population through the committees comprising of Tehsildars, Block
Development Officers, Tehsil Supply Officers of concerned areas as member and
on the recommendation of the committee, fresh ration cards will be issued in
favour of nomadic population under Priority Household Category in pursuance of
Govt Order No 74 –
CAPD of 2016 dated 20-04-2016.
As per the order the recommendation
of the committee shall be the sole criterion for issuance of Ration Card and no
additional documents shall be required for the same.
Meanwhile Chowdhary Gulzar Ahmed
Khatana, Vice Chairman of
J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjar and Bakerwal has
expressed pleasure over the issuance of order and thanked
Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs for taking such a decision to benefit
nomadic population. Chowdhary Khatana also thanked Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali for
his sincere efforts towards fulfilling this genuine demand of the nomadic
population.
