Delhi, Jan 6: Dismissing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claim that it had
approached eminent persons for the January 16 biennial elections to the three
Rajya Sabha seats, rebel party leader Kapil Mishra on Saturday said the name of
the two turncoat candidates Sushil Gupta and N D Gupta were selected long ago.
"There was no invite or formal talks for Rajya Sabha
with any senior person ever. Guptas were fixed long back," Mr Mishra
tweeted.The former Minister also asked the party to show a single communication where its chief Arvind Kejriwal offered anyone Rajya Sabha seats.
On Wednesday, senior AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the party had approached 18 eminent persons related to various fields including from the media and judiciary for Rajya Sabha but they declined to contest citing different reasons.
The party has fielded former Congressman Sushil Gupta, chartered accountant ND Gupta and senior party leader Sanjay Singh as its candidates for the elections to the three Rajya Sabha seats. UNI
