Islamabad,
Jan 20: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has urged politicians
to apologise for their remarks cursing Parliament.
The Prime Minister said that the politicians, who had cursed
Parliament, had achieved nothing but undermined their own stature, Radio
Pakistan reported on Saturday. In an interview with a private news channel (Geo News) on Friday, the Prime Minister said those who were trying to justify such words citing unsatisfactory parliamentary performance had not in fact understood the parliamentary system.
Addressing a protest gathering in Lahore on Wednesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had cursed Parliament.
Mr Abbasi said almost 90 per cent of the parliamentary work was carried out by the standing committees, not the Houses. UNI
