Delhi, Jan 2: Congress party's Jyotiraditya Scindia, raising in the Lok
Sabha, the issue of the terror attack in Pulwama, on Tuesday alleged that
Government was not serious over the security of armed personnel and questioned
its policy towards Pakistan.
During Zero Hour, Mr Scindia questioned why Government did
not act on intelligence inputs about the Pulwama attack.He slammed BJP MP Nepal Singh for comments seen as a slight to army personnel and said he should apologise.
Why are those people quiet who had earlier said they that will be giving a befitting reply to Pakistan, Mr Scindia said lashing out at Government.
'Why has the Prime Minister not made any comment,' the Congress member said, rubbing salt onto the wounds.
Responding to Mr Scindia, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said Government respects the valour of the armed forces.
He said the opposition Congress should not politicise the issue.
"In past three-and-a-half years, our security forces have also eliminated over 200 militants," Mr Kumar said.
In a statement on the attack, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir said Government was serious over the security of the nation.
He said Government was providing all types of modernised equipment to the forces and said it was also considering recommendations of a report by Lt General Philip Campose on security.
The Lok Sabha, earlier, expressed profound sorrow on the "cowardly" terror attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in which five CRPF personnel were martyred on New Year's Eve.
Five personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force were killed when heavily-armed terrorists stormed a security camp on New Year's Eve. UNI
