Nigohi,
Lucknow, Jan 15: An owner of a 'dhaba' in Bhagwanpur was in for a pleasant
surprise when a VVIP cavalcade of Congress president Rahul Gandhi stopped in front
of his outlet on Monday noon.
Sriram Pal, the owner of the Sriram Dhaba, was busy for the
next 30 minutes serving 'pakauras and samosas' to the Congress president and
other senior party leaders who were en route to Amethi via Rae Bareli. The 'dhaba' situated on the Lucknow-Rae Bareli border was a sudden choice of the Congress president when he asked to stop the car for a cup of tea.
UP Congress president Raj Babbar and former MLA Akhilesh Pratap Singh were accompanying the Congress president along with other leaders.
Pal told reporters that he never imagined Mr Gandhi having tea at his 'dhaba.' "I am fortunate to serve such a big leader in my small tea stall and I have no words to express my happiness," he said.
Mr Gandhi also gave enough opportunity to the camerapersons accompanying him to click several photos during his tea break.
Later, the Congress president visited the Churwa Hanuman temple on the border of Lucknow and Rae Bareli.
Earlier, he was given a rousing welcome at the Lucknow airport where thousands of supporters gathered since early this morning.
This was the first visit of Mr Gandhi to Uttar Pradesh and would be staying in his parliamentary constituency of Amethi for two days. UNI
