Agartala, Jan 6: Union minister of state for railways Rajen Gohain accused left front government of Tripura of non-cooperation in implementing development projects in the state here yesterday.
He was addressing a gathering of flag off program of Humsafar Express.
Sharing dais with state transport minister Manik Dey and Loksabha MP Shankar Prasad Datta along with top officials of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in the program Gohain in his speech stated that several projects were postponed in the state due to the non-cooperation of the state government.
He alleged that the state government was not handing over the land for setting up of several infrastructures and said, “Central government sanctions fund and provides technical support for creating infrastructure in the states but the execution of work is vested on the state government. In Tripura it appeared to be the major problem.”
He said however, the central government is having all plans to develop the state and those will be executed soon. The Railway ministry will connect Deoghar in Jharkhand, the headquarters of Hindu religious group Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra soon, as about 13 lakh followers on average visit the centre every year.
According to the demand of BJP state president Deb, Gohain said Ambassa will soon be a stoppage of Rajdhani Express in between Agartala and Dharmanagar of Tripura. Moreover, the number will be doubled based on the passenger fleets of Rajdhani Express between Agartala and New Delhi.
He further stated that 10 pairs of Demo train will start journey to and from Agartala to nearest towns for faster connectivity within the state and frequency of all express trains would also be increased in the coming days. UNI
