The two-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice SA Bobde, and also comprising Justice L Nageswar Rao, dismissed the appeal filed by the US woman challenging the Delhi High Court verdict acquitting Hindi Film, Peepli Live, co-director Mahmood Farooqui.
The apex court upheld the Delhi High Court verdict, and said that it was extremely a well decided case.
"It is a extremely well decided case and we don't want to interfere with the Delhi High Court judgement," the bench of the apex court said and dismissed the appeal filed by the US woman.
The court, while dismissing the appeal filed by the US woman, observed that the Delhi High Court judgment was very well reasoned and could not be interfered with.
In the rape case, which was being tried before a Delhi trial court, Farooqui was convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment.
