New Delhi, Feb 28: The Rakesh Tikait-led Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) on Wednesday demanded a joint session of Parliament to discuss farmers' issues including fair and profitable prices for all agricultural commodities.
Addressing a press conference here, farmer leaders Yudhvir Singh and Mr Tikait said the Government should declare MSP of all crops based on the MS Swaminathan formula and guarantee procurement of all crops so that farmers do not resort to distress sales.
They demanded waiver of all farm loans and interest-free credit for farmers.
The farm leaders gave an ultimatum to the Government that unless their demands were met they will hold a 'Vishal Kisan Panchyat' in New Delhi on March 13.
'If the Government refuses to listen to us, all our units will be asked not to vote for BJP in elections,' Mr Singh said. UNI
