GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 21: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sonamarg
Development Authority, S.A Raina constituted a Vigilance Committee (VC) to
eradicate the menace of polythene and to conduct the continuous inspections to
ensure that no polythene is allowed or littered in the area within the
jurisdiction of Sonamarg Development Authority.
The committee shall also conduct the continuous
inspections at the entry point of the tourist destination including Shutkadi
Sonamarg so that influx of polythene and non-biodegradable items into tourist
destination Sonamarg shall be prevented.
The committee shall submit the report on monthly
basis mentioning the quantity of polythene and other non-biodegradable material
seized during the drive. It will also have a number of cases registered against
the offenders, a number of vehicles seized carrying polythene bags.
