Jammu, Mar 17 : Against the backdrop of demanding separate appointment of Additional Deputy Commissioners in four tehsils of Rajouri district, thousands of people from bordering Nowshera town on Saturday participated in 'Jammu Chalo' march.
Amid anti-government slogans thousands of people from Nowshera town started marching towards Jammu to 'gherao' Civil Secretariart on Monday.The Nowshera residents were demanding appointment of separate ADC after the Government appointed ADC for Kotranka area.
Meanwhile similar protests were also held in Sunderbani and Kalakote areas as the locals were demanding appointment of ADCs too for these areas.
The government recently had ordered appointment of ADCs on rotational basis for Sunderbani-Nowshera and Kalakote-Kotranka belts which was rejected by the people.
However, heavy contingents of police were deployed on Jammu-Poonch national highway to prevent and foil the march. UNI
