JAMMU, MARCH 15: A
meeting of Government Assurances Committee of
J&K Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC,
Surinder Mohan Ambardar in which the Departments of Relief &
Rehabilitation, Industries & Commerce and PWD (R&B) were taken up for
discussion.
Legislators, Sham Lal Bhagat and Zaffar Iqbal
Manhas attended the meeting.
Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce
Shailendra Kumar, Commissioner Secretary, PWD (R&B) Department Sanjeev
Verma and Commissioner Relief & Rehabilitation M L Raina attended the
meeting and briefed the Committee about the action taken report
on the assurances given on the floor of the House.
The Administrative Secretaries of the concerned
departments assured the Committee that the departments would make all-out
efforts to fulfil the assurances given
on the floor of the House.
Threadbare discussion was held on the issues
relating to extension of benefits of Centrally/State Sponsored Schemes to the
minorities especially to the Kashmiri migrants.
The Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce
said that in terms of Supreme Court directions based on Affidavit of state, the
issue has been routed through Planning, Employment and Industries and Commerce
Department and is presently with the Finance Department for approval.
The Commissioner Secretary PWD informed the
Committee that the work on 1X25 mtr span bridge on Pohru Mirpura Wandawlgam
Kokernag is going on in full swing and is expected to be
commissioned by May this year.
Appreciating the authorities of PWD department for
speedy working on the project, the Committee also directed the concerned for
accelerating the pace of work ensuring its timely.
Among other, Senior Officers of the concerned
Departments besides Senior Officers/Officials of the Council Secretariat were
present in the meeting.
