Bengaluru, Mar 26: The ruling Congress in Karnataka is likely to announce the first list of around
110 candidates for the Assembly election, in the first week of April.
According to party sources the screening committee had
already cleared the names and was now before the High Command for the final
approval of the Central Committee.
Meanwhile, the State level Selection Committee resumed its deliberations at a private resort in the city on Monday.
The committee headed by AICC General Secretary Madasudan Mistry had the first meeting recently in the same resort. The meeting was attended among others by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who is also in-charge of party affairs of Karnataka, former Chief Minister and Karnataka Selection Committee head M Verappa Moily, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader K H Muniyappa.
Several Ministers were also present. UNI
