New Delhi, Mar 27: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) announced Delhi Trade Bandh on Wednesday to protest against 'arbitrary and illegal sealing' of commercial establishments and a Mega Rally of traders will be held at Ramlila Ground, here.
The 'Trade Bandh' and 'Rally' have been called by CAIT in association with All Delhi Traders, Vyapari and Workers Association.
The rally will be joined by traders, their employees and their families belonging to thousands of trade associations across Delhi. There will be no business activity in wholesale or retail markets of Delhi. 
CAIT secretary general and chairman of the Rally, Praveen Khandelwal said that as a mark of protest, the traders will not send their children to school and colleges on Wednesday.
'Inclusion of family women and children in the Rally will indicate the Government that sealing of one shop badly affect the livelihood of about 20 families. In totality about 40 lakh people in Delhi are being affected by the sealing,' he said.
Protesting against the gross violation of MCD Act, 1957 for sealing the shops, traders in Delhi on Tuesday took out Protest March in about 100 markets including Ashok Vihar and demanded immediate stoppage of sealing and de-sealing of shops which have been sealed so far.
All major wholesale and retail markets of Delhi including Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Chawri Bazar, Kamla Nagar, Karol Bagh, Kashmiri Gate, Khari Baoli, Naya Bazar, Bhagirath Palace, Lajpat Rai Market, Paharganj, Rajouri Garden, Jail Road, Tilak Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Naraina, Rohini, Ashok Vihar, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Model Town, Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, Defence Colony, Greater Kailash,Green Park, Khan Market, Kirti Nagar, Vikaspuri, Kalkaji, Tughlaqabad, Yusuf Sarai, Vikas Marg, Mandawali, Gandhi Nagar, Shahdara, Bhajanpura, Jagatpuri, Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar, Shradhanand Marg will remain completely closed on Wednesday.
Mr Khandelwal said due to multiplicity of authorities in Delhi having no coordination among them has adversely affected planned development in Delhi. 
'Due to lukewarm and lethargic attitude and irresponsibility of the officials no master plan could be implemented in its right perspective. The Government has failed to develop sufficient commercial space in Delhi. The connivance of officials has resulted into unauthorised constructions. Why only traders are penalised. Why not stern action is taken against the erring officials,' he said.
On the other hand Delhi State level Associations of paint, cement, iron and steel, hardware, plywood, surgical, refrigeration, rubber and plastic, FMCG products, confectionary, beauty cosmetics, furnishing, machinery have declared closure of shops of their members across Delhi whereas gold artisans, fabricators and self employed people of different streams will also keep their shutters closed. 
The Transport Association has also declared support to Trade Bandh and transport companies in Delhi will remain closed. UNI
