BUDGAM, MAR 3: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam
Mohammad Harun Malik today formally launched National AYUSH Mission (NAM) here
at Shiekh-Ul-Alam hall.
Emphasizing the different ways of treatment, DDC
said that the Ayush health services are relatively side effect-free treatment
for different diseases and are used by people from centuries.
He said that in spite of the
new medical discoveries and inventions there has been a rise in the
health-related issues.
The DDC said now people are again opting for the
Ayush health services treatment for its long lasting and better health
benefits.
He exhorted upon AYUSH department to hold such
camps and seminars in other areas of the district to spread awareness about the
health benefits of the traditional way treatment among the people.
He said informed that Rs 3 crore has been spent on
the installation of new health-related machines in last year, while as more Rs
four crore is expected to be spent on the installation of machines during
current year also.
On the occasion, District Medical Officer AYUSH
Budgam, Dr S K Pandita while deliberating on the AYUSH health services said
under the NAM the department would improve its outreach particularly in
vulnerable and far-flung areas of the district.
Among others, Chief Agricultural Officer and Chief
Horticultural Officer Budgam also attended the seminar.
