Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar conducted one day extensive tour of Panchari and Lander of Udhampur
district to generate awareness about Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin’ (SBMG), and ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ schemes today
During the tour, DC interacted
with the prominent citizens of the villages and asked them to cooperate with
the district administration in generating awareness among the masses about the
benefits of the toilet and also sought their advice in making Udhampur Open
Defecation Free. DC said that the main objective of organizing such type of
interactions is to generate awareness among the common masses.
While addressing the camp, DDC appealed the general
public as well as all front line workers to be together and work for the cause
of saving and educating the girl child.
DDC also urged upon the people to
involve more and more in generating awareness about the importance and benefits
of BBBP and SBM schemes. He also stressed on the education of the girl child
and said that an educated girl can contribute to her family as well as her
nation in a better way.
He stressed upon the parents to
understand their role in ensuring that their girl child gets proper upbringing,
education and all facilities for their overall development and emancipation. He
said that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is a major initiative to bring about a
perceptible change at the grassroot level. DC also distributes school bags
among the girls under BBBP schemes.
On the occasion, people of the
area put forth their demands and problems during the camp including shortage of staff in educational
& Health institutions, dilapidated conditions of various roads, paucity of
drinking water & Ration, uninterrupted electricity supply, etc
Patiently after hearing the
problems and demands of the people, the DDC directed the concerned officers to
mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority. He stressed upon the officers to
work with dedication and sincerity and redressed genuine grievances of the
people pertaining to their respective departments at their level within
specified time frame.
The awareness camp was attended
by, Nodal Officer, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Rachna Sharma, Chief Education
Officer, J.R Bhardwaj, Tehsildar Panchari, Narinder Kumar, Tehsildar Moungri,
Amit Verma BDO, Panchari, Mohinder Singh, and other district and Tehsil level officers of different
departments besides lagre number of eminent citizen were
present on the occasion.
