DODA, MARCH 07: District Development Commissioner, Bhawani Rakwal,
who is also the Chairman District Disaster Management Authority Doda, convened
a meeting with senior officers of
various departments to discuss the arrangements regarding “Conducting
of various capacity building programme on disaster management”,
at DC Office complex here today.
ADC Bhaderwah, Imam Din, SP Operations Doda, SDM
Thathri, Assar and Gandoh, ACR Tariq Hussain Naik, CPO , Yoginder Katoch, CMO,
ARTO, AEE PHE, PDD, Principals, DySP SDRF, Fire Services besides other district
officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that the main
programme on capacity building on disaster management shall be held at Sports
Stadium Doda on 15th of March 2018 where
resource persons from different line departments will provide training to the
participants including rescue, first aid and other measures to be adopted in
case of any disaster.
Taking a serious note of increase in road accidents
in the Chenab region, the DDC directed the CMO and ARTO Doda to organize
awareness camps at main bus stand Doda, Pul Doda and various other places to
aware the drivers and conductors about consequence of rash driving, over speed,
driving without helmet, use of mobile phone while driving and many more alike.
Similar directions were passed to the SDMs to
organize disaster management programme at Sub-division level and impart
training to the participants through resource personals who can volunteer
during the emergency situations.
The DDC asked the departments of Fire services,
SDRF, Health and Army personals to carry mock drills and demonstrations to
impart training regarding rescue, injuries, mass casualty management and first
aid.
Principal,
Government Degree College, Doda and CEO, Doda were asked to organize debate cum
cultural programmes, painting competitions involving students from school and
colleges from all over the district to spread a mass awareness on disaster
management.
The
DDC further instructed all the district officers to participate in the function
along with their officials on the proposed date and venue to make the programme
a success.
