Sydney, Mar 26: National champion Anish Bhanwala secured a gold medal in the in men's 25m rapid fire pistol event at the ongoing ISSF Junior World Cup here on Monday.
The Haryana lad outclassed two of his compatriots and three Chinese shooters to bag the yellow metal. Significantly, this was also Anish's gold medal at the international level. 
The 15-year-old topped Cheng Zhipeng (27 total hits) and Zhang Jueming (23 total hits) with 29 hits.
Two other Indians- Anhad Jawanda and Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu finished fourth and sixth respectively.
However, China pocketed gold in the team event with 1733 points while Anish and his teammates – Anhad and Adarsh Singh clinched silver with 1714 points.
India is now currently placed second in the medals tally with six Gold, three Silver and six Bronze medals while China, having seven Gold, four Silver and six Bronze medals tops the chart. UNI
