Agartala, March 14: A
person was killed and six others were injured in a clash between two groups
over cannabis cultivation in Matinagar village of bordering Sonamura in West
Tripura yesterday.
According to police, Jakir Hossain, a Bangladeshi youth, had been residing in a
ganja plant at Matinagar. But, the room of Jakir Hossain was put under lock and
key by a local group last night. The brawl began when another group went to the
site to unlock Jakir’s room.Suddenly, the situation turned volatile after the two parties got engaged in a clash. Tension ran high following attacks and counter attacks between the two groups with lethal weapons. Altogether seven persons were injured in the clash and one of them succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. UNI
