New Delhi, Mar 5: While accepting the mandate of the people of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya in
the recent assembly polls, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the
party was committed to strengthening itself across the North East and winning
back the trust of the people.
In his first reaction to the results of the assembly polls,
Rahul, who is abroad to spend the Holi vacation with his maternal grandmother,
said in a tweet, 'the Congress party respects the mandate of the people of
Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
We are committed to strengthening our party across the North East and to winning back the trust of the people.'
The Congress president thanked party workers for their efforts.
'My sincere thanks to each and every Congress worker who toiled for the party,' Rahul said.
