KUPWRA, MARCH 27: Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI),
Kupwara, today organized an awareness camp under the Prime Minister’s
Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) where Assistant Commissioner Revenue
Mohammad Abdullah was the chief guest.
The function was attended by Director RSETI Mushtaq
Ahmad Mattoo, Executive officer KVIB, officials of District
Industries Centre Kupwara and candidates of PMEGP.
Speaking on the occasion, Director RSTI said that
the Institute has conducted 10 batches of PMEGP training programmes during the
current financial year, adding that about
236 candidates were covered in the programmes with loan aggregation of Rs 14.77
crore extended by various banks under the sponsorship of KVIC, KVIB and DIC.
It was said that the current PMEGP batch consists
of 38 candidates being sponsored by various banks under different activities
with total expenditure amounting to Rs 3.31 crore.
On the occasion, ACR Kupwara suggested that other
key sectors be also covered under RSETI programmes to generate more employment
opportunities for the locals.
