Calls for pooling of resources for the interest of the students |
JAMMU, MARCH 16: SRML Rolling Trophy will soon
commence as a tribute to the prestigious SRML School, this was announced by
Minister of State for Education, Tourism and Culture, Priya Sethi during her
visit to the Govt. Shri Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Jammu here today.
Giving details about the event, Minister said the event will be divided
into quarterly time frames and will include sports activities, Olympiads,
cultural competitions and festivals showcasing educational movies and
documentaries.
The Minister asked the concerned officers to prepare a detailed plan in
this regard and further asked them to prepare a calendar for all the activities
to be taken under the proposed programme.
She said that the district administration will also be pooled in and a
model school from all districts will have a rolling trophy on the
same lines. Priya asked the concerned officers to consider constructive
recommendations and take feedbacks from the Principals and appoint a nodal
officer and launch the mega event with an inter school sports competition.
Sethi said the Super-50 programme will also be started soon. She said
under the programme, 50 students with academic brilliance from all over the
division will be nurtured and prepared for IIT’s and IIM’s right
from the 9th standard to pave a strong foundation
for them to compete at national and international level.The Minister called for
the pooling of resources for the interest of the students especially for the
weaker sections of society.
“State of
J&K has best academic talent and human resource in the country, all they
need is the proper guidance and utilization”, the Minister affirmed.
Priya asked the administration of SRML school to prepare an inclusive
plan for organizing the annual day for the school and make students participate
in the grand event in different cultural programmes, theme based skits and
invite pass out students of the last three years.
Stressing on making the Resource room efficient in schools across the
state, State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Abdul Rashid War,
who is holding the additional charge for Director School Education Jammu,
assured the minister that Speech therapy machine will be provided to the school
for making its resource room more equipped.
The Minister also took a round of the school and inspected the progress
of the ongoing work initiated to strengthen the infrastructure of the said
institution. She directed the officers of the concerned agencies to expedite the work
while adhering to the quality norms and set a deadline for the completion of
the same.
Pertinently, JMC announced grant of Rs 25 lakh for up-gradation of
infrastructure in SRML School
On the occasion Principal, SRML, Shafqat Javed Chib apprised the
Minister regarding the need of construction of new and renovation of already
existing infrastructure of the school including laboratories, examination
halls, toilet complexes, compound walls, parking area, auditorium, indoor and
outdoor sports activity area and many alike.
The Minister assured that every developmental need essential for the
betterment of the institution, catering to more than 2000 students, will be
taken by the government on the priority basis.
Sethi also directed the school administration for opening of the
admission for the nursery class from 18TH March 2018
. The Minister also sought status on her earlier direction for the opening of
pre-primary classes at Govt. Higher Sec. School, Jullaka Mohalla.
She stressed on ensuring more enrollments by way of publicity and
community mobilization and directed for preparing a class room in Govt. Middle
School, Dhounthly as an alternative for starting the pre-primary class. The Minister asked the concerned officials to allocate 10 Lakhs for the
renovation of primary school at Jullaka Mohalla.
Chief Education Officer , J K Sudan , Zonal Education Officer ,Jammu,
Amrit Kour, Principal, Govt. Higher Sec. School, Jullaka Mohala, Rifat Khan,
XeN, JMC, Rajesh Gupta, AEE,JMC, Anil Gupta besides officers of the concerned
departments were present on the occasion.
