Water Resource Regulation Monitoring Act meeting held in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, MARCH 27:- Additional District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Nazir Ahmad Baba  chaired a meeting regarding the Water Resource Regulation Monitoring Act here today.

In the meeting, threadbare discussion were held on overall water resources and water requirements for irrigation, drinking , and industry.  The meeting also discussed the ways to draw up plans for water harvesting and mapping of water resources all around the District.

 Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Ganderbal said that  it is imperative to focus on goals with clarity and chalk out futuristic plans to achieve the overall objective of providing improved and sustainable drinking water services in future.

During the meeting, Sub Committee has been framed comprising of ExEn PHE, ExEn Irrigation and Flood control Ganderbal, Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal and Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal as members. The committee would  come up with  plans for understanding water resources available, methods of increasing the utilization of available water resources, water requirements of different sectors like drinking water, livestock, agriculture, industry and commerce.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ganderbal, Executive Engineers from Irrigation and Flood Control, Public Health Engineering and other concerned departments. Besides Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal and other district officer.
