Directs J&K Housing Board to expedite pace on
construction works
JAMMU, MARCH 12: Minister for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer
Affairs (FCS& CA) and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today convened
a joint meeting of officers of different departments to review the physical and
financial status of various ongoing works under FCS&CAD, Legal Metrology
Department (LMD) and Tribal Affairs Department in the state.
Commissioner Secretary FCS&CAD, M D Khan,
Commissioner Secretary Tribal Affairs Department, Salma Hamid, Director FCS
&CA Jammu, Ch Rashid Azam Inqalabi, Director Tribal Affairs Department,
Mohammad Rafi, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board, Manmohan
Singh, Controller LMD, Raj Kumar Katoch, Special Secretary Tribal Affairs,
Mohammad Shareef, Deputy Controller LMD Manoj Prabakhar, Secretary Gujjar
Advisory Board Mukhtar Ahmad Choudhary, Financial Advisor Zia Qazi, Executive
Engineer JK Housing Board and other senior officers of Planning, Finance and
concerned departments were present in the meeting.
The Minister taking note of the progress made
directed J&K Housing Board to accelerate the pace of work of various
ongoing construction works so that the projects are completed in time. He
stressed upon the officers to maintain quality standards in its works besides
doubling their efforts to complete the project within stipulated time frame.
Zulfkar also directed the concerned officers to
release the funds on time so that the pace on ongoing works is not hampered.
During the meeting a detailed review was taken on
progress made on various works including Constructions of Gujjar and Bakerwal
Hostels, Eklavya Residential Schools, renovation and repair of G&B Hostels,
construction of FCS & CA buildings, and Legal Metrology buildings besides
other works in the state.
The meeting was informed that renovation/repairs on
G&B Boys Hostel at Tulsibagh Srinagar have been completed and
renovation/repairs on G&B Boys Hostel at Anantnag are expected to be
competed very soon.
The Minster asked the concerned department to
release Rs 1 crore in addition to the existing amount for construction of
Eklavya School at Doda. He also directed for construction of boundary walls at
newly constructed LMD buildings at Akhnoor, Udhampur and Rajouri besides
undertaking landscaping works.
While reviewing the progress on construction of
FCS&CA Direction office building at Ware House, the Minister was informed
that an amount of Rs 5 crore has been expended so far and the construction work
is in full swing. Zulfkar directed the executing agency to complete the first
floor of the complex by ending April this year.
The Minister also designated Deputy Controller LMD
Manoj Prabhakar as Liaison officer to coordinate with the departments and
executing agency for all construction related works.
