Srinagar, Apr 3: All
educational institutions remained closed for the second day on
Tuesday in Kashmir valley, where separatists have called for a general
strike in protest against killing of four civilians in security force action
following demonstrations on Sundayafter 13 militants were gunned down and
three soldiers were also martyred and several others were injured in three
encounters in south Kashmir.
The Kashmir University (KU), Islamic University of Science and Technology
(IUST) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) have also postponed all
examinations and interviews whichscheduled to be held on today.“All schools and colleges will remain closed for the second day today as a precautionary measure to avoid any law and order problem in Kashmir valley,” officials said.
The KU, CUK and IUST have also announced suspension of class work. The KU further said that all examinations of the university, which were scheduled to be held on today, have also been postponed and new date will be announced later.
Announcing the decision to postpone all examinations which were scheduled to be held on Monday and Tuesday, the IUST said new dates will be announced later.
The government announced closure of educational institutions as a precautionary measures following strike called by separatists and restriction imposed in the down town and Shehar-e-Khas and majority areas in south Kashmir. UNI
