Mumbai, Apr 27: Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly Opposition leader Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil has said that the tenth standard Geography textbooks in the state carries a faulty picture of national flag and map of the country and demanded action against those responsible for it.
He demanded action against the Maharashtra State Textbook Production and Curriculum Research Board, the publishers of the book.
Addressing a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, he stated that Jammu and Kashmir has been shown outside the country's boundaries.
The map is wrong in which large parts of the state are not shown in the border of India.
Besides, in the national flag, the Ashok Chakra have been used in different colors, he pointed out.
The state government should immediately arrest the culprits and file a complaint against them, he demanded. The book should be revised and new one made available, he added. UNI
