KISHTWAR APRIL 24: A day long campaign against the use of Polythene
was organized by Tehsildar Kishtwar, Shokat Hayat Mattoo in Kishtwar town.
The drive was conducted in the backdrop of
directions issued by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana to make the
district polythene free.
Tehsildar Kishtwar was accompanied by SHO Kishtwar
Sameer Jeelani conducted the drive. The shop to shop drive yield in
confiscation of polythene bags weighing 28Kgs which were seized on spot and
handed over to the official of Municipal Department.
The checking team also destroyed about 50 Kg of
rotten vegetables and fruit which were unfit for consumption from various shops
besides realization of fine on spot from erring shopkeepers.
