JAMMU APRIL 11: To celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar as Samrasta Diwas a programme was held here at Kacha Talab, Bahu Fort. The programme was organized by the District Mahila Morcha under the leadership of District President Rekha Mahajan in which BJP State Vice-President Rajni Sethi and State Secretary Anuradha Charak were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahila Morcha District President Rekha Mahajan described Dr Ambedkar as the father of Indian Constitution.
In her address, Rekha Mahajan said, “Born in an ordinary family, Dr Ambedkar rose to great heights. The Constitution he wrote has become the holy book for all Indians."
While highlighting his achievements, she said that Ambedkar always stood by the poor and down trodden people and was a real social worker. “As a Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee his greatest gift to India was the world’s biggest Constitution which envisaged security to every citizen of India irrespective of caste, colour and creed. He was the real architect of the Indian Constitution,” she added.
Remember the maker of the Indian constitution B.R Ambedkar, Vice-President Rajni Sethi said that the ideology of Ambedkar was still incomplete because our society still remains unchanged due to existing inequality. She further appealed the participants and youth to follow his footsteps.
While, State Secretary Anuradha Charak said that “We have to follow the path shown by Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar. He scarified his life for the upliftment of down trodden people.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Monika Khosla, Shalja Gupta, Savita Anand, Pooja Chauhan, Kira, Aggarwal, Raksha Zirat, Sharda, Darshana Devi, Kanta Devi and Saroj.
