Takes stock of
developmental issues needing intervention at ground level
JAMMU, APRIL 04: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today held
an extensive interactive session with local representatives from various areas
of Jammu district, both urban and rural hamlets.
Minister for PHE,
Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary, Minister for Animal, Sheep
Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli, Minister for Cooperatives and
Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay, Minister of State for Tourism, Education, Priya
Sethi, Minister of State for Finance, Ajay Nanda, Vice Chairman Kissan Advisory
Board, D S Chib and MLA Akhnoor Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat also participated in the
session.
Various representatives
from areas including Marh, Akhnoor, Nagrota, Dhansal, Domana, Chamb, Pargwal
and others put forth the issues pertaining to their areas and sought early
redressal of their issues.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Singh said that
the local representatives work with people at ground level and are abreast with
the developmental needs of the respective areas. He said it is essential to
have such interactive sessions at regular intervals to ensure equitable and
sustainable development.
“Besides, focussing on ensuring availability of
basic amenities to all residents of the state, government is also consistently
working to establish good governance and a transparent, accountable
administration”, he asserted.
Among others, major issues raised in the session
included expediting land compensation to beneficiaries for various development
projects, streamlining dispersal,
execution of various centrally and state sponsored schemes especially in rural
areas and other parts.
